Calories burned calculator
How many calories walking, running, yoga or a home workout burns, for your weight and your time - and what that adds up to in rotis and cups of chai. To see what to eat in a day, use the calorie calculator.

An estimate from the Compendium of Physical Activities. The same activity burns more for a heavier person, and real effort varies, so treat it as a guide rather than a measurement.

Common questions
How many calories does a 30-minute walk burn?
A brisk 30-minute walk burns about 147 kcal for someone who weighs 65 kg, and more for a heavier person. That is a little more than one roti.
How is this worked out?
Each activity has a MET value from the Compendium of Physical Activities: how hard it is compared with sitting still. Calories burned are MET x 3.5 x your weight in kg / 200, for each minute. It is the same estimate the CaloDaily app uses for the workouts you log.
Does yoga burn many calories?
Gentle yoga burns relatively little - about 102 kcal in 30 minutes at 65 kg - but it builds strength, balance and flexibility. Faster, flowing styles burn more; choose "Hard" for those.
Why does my weight change the answer?
Moving a heavier body takes more energy, so two people doing the same walk burn different amounts. That is why the calculator asks for your weight.
Should I eat back the calories I burn?
If you are trying to lose weight, count only part of it: estimates like these can run high, and eating all of it back can cancel the deficit. CaloDaily shows calories left to eat and to burn side by side, so you can see both.
Track what you eat and what you burn
CaloDaily shows what is left to eat and to move, plans meals from your own pantry and builds workouts that fit you. No wearable needed, no ads.
